Schools Receive New Trees!

In partnership with Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), we planted 133 trees this month! Schools were the focus of this spring’s planting with Eaton Rapids High School and Athletic Complex, Lockwood Elementary, East Lansing High School, William Donley Elementary and MacDonald Middle School receiving newly planted trees. Volunteers from MSUFCU, Eaton Rapids High School, City of Eaton Rapids and City of East Lansing provided the muscle to complete the project.

This planting was made possible by a Go Green Challenge campaign organized by MSUFCU.  MSUFCU challenged its members to switch from paperless to e-statements. In return MSUFCU provided $2,000 to plants trees in the Greater Lansing Area. The City of Eaton Rapids has lost numerous trees to pests and storms and the City of East Lansing has lost trees to Emerald Ash Borer.

To date the Go Green Challenge has replaced 268 trees that otherwise might not have been. We would like to thank MSUFCU for sponsoring the Go Green Challenge and the City of Eaton Rapids and East Lansing for becoming a Go Green Partner.
