Getting the Jump on Michigan’s Apple Harvest

There are many things to love about trees, but I think we can all agree that one of the most widely recognized benefits is the wide variety of fruit that we can get from them. And here in Michigan apple season is one of the best harvest seasons around. People wait all year to get their hands on specific varieties that may only be found locally or may only be available for a few weeks and then are gone for another year.

If you are one of the people who look forward to this event and want to know when your favorite apple will be ready for the picking, this is the chart for you. The Michigan Apple Committee (and yes, that is a real organization) has put together this handy graphic of harvest times for many common Michigan apples. And if you don’t know where to find them, the committee can help you with that too. Their website contains a page titled “where to find Michigan apples,” need I say more?
